How do I calculate steel weight per metre?

Select a section from the library (IPE, HEA, HEB, UPN, IS 808) or enter custom dimensions. Enter length and quantity, click Calculate. The tool shows kg/m, piece weight, and total tonnes.

What density does the calculator use?

Default is 7850 kg/m³ for carbon steel. You can switch to stainless steel (7930–7980 kg/m³), aluminium (2700 kg/m³), or enter a custom value.

Can I add multiple sections to a running total?

Yes. Each calculation result can be added to a running list. The list shows a grand total in kg and tonnes, and can be copied to clipboard.
